A source of power in a subject of the Russian Federation: the problem and its solution

Abstract

On the basis of some theoretical premises from ontology of law, methodology and logic of science and considering some legal positions of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, the author examines some issues of evolution in the process of regional authority forming. The article reviews the constitutional origins and general definition of a source of power in the regions. The author presents his point of view on logical discrepancies in some attempts of construing of the Constitutional Court rulings, when these attempts do not regard the people in the regions as the source of the regional power. The author presents his own understanding of authority source in regions of the Russian Federation, and formulates a proposal of appropriate and relevant amendments for changing the federal law.
