The Center for Constitutional Studies in partnership with the St. Petersburg Institute of Law. Prince P.G. Oldenburgsky held a Scientific Conference Universal Human Rights Standards and Their Implementation on December, 10 and 11.
The conference was organized to mark the annual International Human Rights Day – the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10, 1948.
Human rights, like the rule of law, are the unifying foundations of constitutionalism and constitutional systems in different countries, in different legal cultures. During the scientific conference, participants from different countries:
- discussed the main existing and emerging models of relationships between international and national human rights courts;
- shared different views on a structured vision of the future functioning of the human rights system in Russia and around the world.
Special attention was also paid to the problem of the implementation of human rights during the global Covid-19 pandemic.
Meetings were held in a hybrid format with prior registration:
In person – Moscow, 8, Shchepkina St, floor 3, conference room “Sukharevsky”;
Online – on the ZOOM platform (a link is sent to each registered member individually).
Media partners of the conference: scientific journals Comparative Constitutional Review and International Justice.
